The 69th Annual Meeting of The Japan Wood Research Society was held at Hakodate on 14-16 March. We had 6 oral presentations and 2 poster presentations. The programme is available in the official site. Zhao Yuanyuan (D1) and Daiki Bito (M2) of our laboratory won the oral presentation award and poster award, respectively. Congratulations! A year-end party of our laboratory was held on 21 December at Kiyamachi. Have a nice year-end and a happy new year!

Dr. Natthanon Phaiboonsilpa (Assistant Director, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology), who has been a student in our laboratory, visited us last week. We took dinner at a sushi restaurant in Ponto-cho.

From this October, three new international students joined us and a welcome party was held at Kita Seisyonen Center of Kyoto City. We have many foreign students rather than domestic students so our laboratory is very international.  Best wishes on their life and research in Kyoto!
